The Fight Library TM started back in 1982 when I purchased my first VHS machine. Like most people from my era, I grew up watching Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman and all of the great heavyweight contenders from the 1970's. When Ali retired from the ring, the fight game went thru a resurgence in the 1980's led by talented fighters in the lighter weight divisions, like Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Alexis Arguello, Aaron Pryor, Salvador Sanchez, Boom Boom Mancini, Hector Camacho, Barry McGuigan, Bobby Chacon, Marvin Hagler and many more.
Between 1982 - 1988, I videotaped every fight that came on television from ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, & HBO. These videotapes make up the core of The Fight Library TM as well as boxing magazines from 1979 - 1990. During that fertile period in boxing history, many fights displayed the best elements of the fight game; a blue-collar sport made up of sweat, hard work, determination, strategy, mental toughness and the fierce desire to win.
